Project Description:

This master thesis investigates the relationships between art installations involving light and sound, and their spatial settings. Starting from the premise that these installations and the spaces associated with them are translated into mental spaces through our cognitive capacities, this paper intends to study the determining factors in the perception we have of spaces altered through light and sound. That, in order to reveal possible prospects in terms of architecture and of the experience that one has of it.
Here, objective & scientific facts are put into perspective with subjective work of art analyses to study the three components of these installations - light, sound and movement-as well as their various underlying processes of space alteration.
